Culture in Engadine

You can experience Engadine's Romansch culture in Scuol and the surrounding mountain villages. The natural springs have made Scuol both a spa resort and one of the most well-known places in Lower Engadine. The lively village sill impresses visitors today with its authentic local way of life. The traditional Engadine farmhouses with their thick walls and individual ornamentation - so called 'Sgraffiti' - create a very distinctive village landscape.

The Engadine Scuol Spa, with its Health and Leisure Pool, large sauna complex and Roman-Irish bath, is a great place to relax and pass the time.
Nearby Tarasp Castle, with its knights' and banqueting halls, old bedroom and guest apartments, castle chapel and much more, is one of the popular attractions in Lower Engadine.

The region's Alpine landscape includes lush Alpine pastures, dense larch forests, winding valleys and impressive gorges.
The Engadine Scuol Holiday Region offers a wide range of possibilities for extensive hikes, mountain bike tours or leisurely walks on various panoramic routes.

Swiss National Park

The Swiss National Park  is also very close (10 km). Nature has flourished here since 1914 without human interference in an area covering 170 km². The rich variety of flora and fauna can be experienced on an 80-km network of trails.
